Art Wynwood
, Art Miami's new sister show solidified
a position on the International Contemporary Art Fair calendar with its
inaugural show. The fair will take place annually during "President's Day
Weekend", Miami’s busiest holiday weekend. The highly anticipated
Inaugural International Contemporary Art Fair yielded extraordinary sales by 88
percent of participating galleries (including: Barry Friedman, Magnan Metz,
Black & White Contemporary, Hollis Taggart, ACA Galleries, Bernice
Steinbaum & Nancy Hoffman).
Art Wynwood attracted more than 23,500 visitors
during its five-day run with 5,100 collectors and art enthusiasts attending the
Opening Night VIP Private Preview. Many of the 50-plus exhibitors also noted
strong leads and have achieved substantial follow up sales with serious
collectors. The fair showcased a diverse range of fresh and edgy works by
established, mid-career and emerging international contemporary and urban
street artists from around the globe.
Art Wynwood shined a spotlight on Midtown Miami
and the Wynwood Arts District as a year long flourishing international cultural
destination. Art Wynwood 2013 will feature paintings, photography, sculpture,
art video and new media, conceptual art and urban street art. The Fair will
continue to distinguish the Wynwood Arts District as Miami’s epicenter where
art, fashion, design and the culinary arts intersect.
